Votive Holders

I made these for my wedding as well. I am going to put white sand in them and a tea light candle.

Items you need
Adhesive tape- permanent clear double sided. ( bought mine from Micheals)
favor charms- I used the double heart because that is our theme any you like will work.
Solid color ribbon- depends on how thick you want it- I chose 3.8in/15.8mm ( I used celebrate it brand because it was on sale, but any brand will work
Printed ribbon- or solid will work just make sure its smaller then the other ribbon you chose. ( I chose double heart recollection ribbon from Micheals .99 cents everyday price)
Votive holder- can be any color and style I just chose clean and plain.

How to:
Step one- take both kinds of ribbon and wrap around votive holder and measure how much ribbon you need. then cut to fit.
Step two-take double sided tape and place on the back (down the middle) of the smaller of the two ribbons and cut to fit.
Step three- remove the backing of the double sided tape you just applied to the ribbon, so its sticky.
Step four- place the smaller ribbon (sticky side down) to the bigger ribbon, make sure the smaller ribbon is centered on the bigger ribbon.
Step five- place double sided tape on the back side on the bigger ribbon, cut to fit.
Step six- remove the backing to the double sided tape you just applied to the bigger ribbon and then place the ribbons to the center of the votive holder and wrap around the votive holder, being careful its going straight it easily can become crooked.
Step seven- cute a small piece of double sided tape I did it to the height of the ribbon ( I place where the ribbons came together so on the seam)
Step eight- remove the backing to the double sided tape you just applied to the seam, so its sticky then place the charm on it, Press firmly to its sticks.

Blinged out flip flops

I made these flip flops for me (the bride) to wear at my wedding.
Items needed
-Bling on a roll ( recollections brand) size 1yd/0.9m ( purchased from Micheals)
- Hot glue
- flip flops( I used old navy flip flops) $2.20each or $1.00 on dollar days

HOW TO MAKE YOUR FLIP FLOPS SHINE!!!!!!

Step one: I cut the bling on a roll to size of strap on flip flop, making sure the part that goes between the toes is cut on an angle to match the way the shoe goes.

Step two: start from the top ( the part between your toes) put some hot glue on the angle end of the bling, make sure you put enough glue but not too much where it makes a mess, but enough to where there is a strong seal between the shoe and the the bling ribbon, and press firmly.

Step three: Continue to the end of strap, a little at a time to make sure its straight. there might be a little extra at the end you and trim to fit better when you get that far.

Step four: Continue for the opposite side.

Step five: there may be a space near the top middle the part that goes between the toes where it looks like theres something  missing you can either put a bow or charm there or like me I took some of the pieces of bling I cut to trim at the end of the strap and pieced them to fit the empty space and hot glued them there.

ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK, I will be happy to help.

Welcome

Hi there I am a girl on a budget, who is getting married in September, 2013. I wanted to make a blog to help those who are also on a budget. This blog will show some of the projects I  have done, what they look like and how I made them. The first couple are going to be wedding related because that what my projects are consisting of theses days. please ask questions, I may have an Idea about how I can help you on other projects as well. I can't see someone paying full price for something when you can do it yourself and its half the cost and may even look better.
